The new musical adaptation of the 1997 movie

Arguably one of the most celebrated black romance movies ever made, 1997's Love Jones will see a new incarnation as a stage musical, touring across the States this fall. What is it about?

Having gained a cult following for its realistic portrayal of love and sex, Love Jones follows the journey of a couple called Darius and Nina, who meet at a poetry reading at an upscale bohemian nightclub. A mutual interest is sparked, and the two agree to a date; they sleep together afterwards, which throws the pair into turmoil. Nina is torn over Darius and her ex-boyfriend, whilst Darius is torn between keeping up a casual demeanor, or admitting his deepening love for Nina.
